The 2022 Corporate Registers Forum CRF2022 has been held in Maldives with several Chief Executives of Companies Registries across the globe in attendance.
This year’s Forum with the theme: “Transforming Business Registries for the Post Pandemic Era” is convened by the Association of International Corporate Registries.
The CRF aims to provide members with the opportunity to review the latest developments in corporate business registers internationally and exchange experiences and information on the present and future operation of corporate business registration systems.
During the 2022 forum, the Registrar General/CEO of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Alhaji Garba Abubakar is expected to make a presentation titled: Legislative Reforms in Nigeria and the Deployment of New Technological Solution for All Registration Services”.
The Maiden edition took place in Auckland in 2003 and was hosted by the New Zealand Companies Office with registries from thirteen jurisdictions in attendance.
Though the group was initially named “Asia-Pacific Corporate Registries Forum”, during its second meeting held in Melbourne, Australia in March 2005, members however voted to adopt the name “Corporate Registers Forum” in a bid to acquire a global perspective.
CAC News reports that in line with the CRF objectives, the Annual Conference is combined with the Annual General Meeting to provide delegates with the opportunity to review the latest developments in corporate business registers internationally and exchange experiences and information on the present and future operation of corporate business registration systems.
This year’s gathering of the Corporate Registers is expected to be brought to a close on 24th September,2022 in the ancient nation which is consisting of a chain of twenty-six coral atolls stretched across the equator along a length of 871 kilometres with 1,192 islands dotted along the Indian Ocean.
Meanwhile, Republic of Malta has been announced as host for the 2023 edition of the Corporate Registers Forum CRF.

The Announcement was made at the end of the CRF2022 held in The Republic of Maldives.
Following it’s AGM, the CRF also elected a new Executive Committee comprising of Geraldine Spiteri Lucas, Josef Gasimov, Chin Li Fen, Julian Lamb and Nor Azimah Abdul Aziz.
The 5-member executive committee emerged victorious after keen contest with 12 others.
High point of the CRF2022 include the presentation by the Registrar General/CEO of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Alhaji Garba Abubakar titled: “Legislative Reforms in Nigeria and the Deployment of New Technological Solution for All Registration Services”.
Participants have described the forum as hugely successful and immensely rewarding experience.
